Bronze in the British Nationals for Barnsley Swimmer

Last week saw the British Summer Championships at Ponds Forge bringing
together the best aged 15+ swimmers from across the country together.

At Borough Of Barnsley Swimming Club we're proud to have seen Tom Speed
achieve the qualifying times for 3 events, 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke
and come away with a Bronze medal at National level.

The competition was spread across the week with heats in the morning and
finals in the evening.

The competition was strong and Tom made the final in two of the 3 events.

The 100m breaststroke saw a range of just 1 second between the top 8
finalists with Tom achieving 1:07:98 in the final.

In the 50m breaststroke Tom achieved not only a personal best of 30.52
seconds but the bronze medal in the final.

Carly Herbert, Head Coach commented "Toms performance this week was
fantastic, I am a very proud coach".

BOBSC swimmer Libby Turner is at Ponds Forge this week competing in the ASA
Summer Nationals.
