The Borough of Barnsley Swimming Club narrowly missed the top spot at their 10th annual summer sizzler at Ponds Forge at the weekend, pipped at the post by Sheffield City Swimming Club. Over 350 swimmers took part in the gala with clubs attending from Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Lancashire. Club Press Officer Adrian Wightman said "The swimmers made a great effort with older the club's senior swimmers mentoring their younger team mates." Aiden Duffin, Zack Bailey, Keira Tiggardine, Olivia Oughton, Holly Atkinson and Meredeth Gregory made their swimming debuts.
